Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
- Joshua 3:5
Hello. It’s been a long time since I have shared about the comings and goings of my life. It has been nearly a month into my blogless status and I hope to actively start sharing through this weblog again. The last month has been very busy. Although there are many things to discuss, I want to talk about my thoughts and experiences regarding Campus Challenge. Campus Challenge (CC) was a conference held between May 17-20 for the purpose of developing awareness of campus ministry. This year, many campus groups were represented from a variety of campuses. There was time to share visions, equip students with new skills, pray with one another, and ultimately having personal devotion dedicated to God. I was part of the planning committee for CC and I can say that I am thankful for what transpired over the long weekend. I am grateful for all the people that were involve: the planning committee, the speakers and workshop leaders, small group leaders, worship leaders, and anyone/everyone who contributed in their own way. I am hopeful that anyone who went to CC has benefited from the conference and will bring their God-given vision to their respected campuses. As I think back upon the themes of each day, I am once again astonished by the power of the Holy Word. I had a hand in designing the bible studies and selecting the devotional material and I know that such “hardcore” material may be too much for some people at the conference. Going into CC, I was very worried for the small group leaders… that I did not give them enough bible study material, or too little preparation, or perhaps not enough direction. In the end, I was surprised that I was rather calm about the whole situation and I trusted that God will work through the small group leaders. I must confess that I did not give my all to the small group leaders. Although I did make myself available for several leaders, I know I could have done so much more with my free time (both before CC, and during CC). It’s funny how I come to understand sanctification and how it relates to myself. Not only must I continually sanctify myself because of the sin in my life; I must also sanctify my will, my thoughts, and my efforts in all my endeavors. There is really too many things to share about CC. As I collect my thoughts, I will hope to share more about what God has shown me this past weekend. I believe God has spoken to us in a big way at CC, but I also believe that he has spoken to me in the smallest of whispers. I hope that through my sharing, you may find him speaking to you as well.
